After a couple of round trips in and out of Vegas, I get a couple days off in Tulsa, Ok wailting to deliver on Wed. Then its right back to Vegas for another R/T. It seems I may have finally made the A-list of drivers for the Vegas agent. Now I’m waiting for the quarter to end so I get to catch my breath, and maybe play some golf. The best thing about the small group of drivers that work out of Vegas is that there are a lot of diverse interests other than trucking, and there are some very smart business people also. When we are there, its usually somewhere between 6 and 10 of us there at a time to get together and do things with. That adds a lot of normality to a rather unconventional lifestyle. This week though it will probably be get in unload/reload and haul ass, At least we get to wave and shout hello as we pass on the highway.

I added a blog to the website so that I could share thoughts and ideas from the road with others, both drivers and non-drivers alike. Although a tough way to make a living I love what I do and like most true “truckers” couldn’t imagine doing anything else. A real trucker can tell you- Trucking is not a job, its a lifestyle. A lot has changed out here and its sometimes hard to be proud of our industry, but there are still a lot of us out here who work hard to be good representatives of a great industry. This morning I’m sitting in Las Vegas waiting to load for a short little run to Southern California, then back here for a load to Mississippi. I look forward to sharing thought and ideas with anyone who wanders across this blog. I’ll also try to share thoughts from the road as regularly as possible.
